BEHIND THE LENS - Nearly $2000 on a Missing Dogs by Christian Lee

While interning today at the Belleville News Democrat, I had the privilege of work with TIM VIZER. His work has been published in notible publications such as Associated Press and  Sports Illustrated. The first Photo Request that was received, was in regards to a statewide Police officer fundraiser at Dunkin Doughnuts. Immediately on our way back to the office we received another notice from a reporter in regards of a "four-dog tracking team and a professional dog searcher looking for" a missing dog in Mascouta, IL. Edwardsville High School Tigers (Ranked no. 2 in state) faced off against the Civil Memorial High School Eagle's at the Simmons baseball complex in Edwardville IL.

Edwardsville, Il celebrates "Illinois Day". Elementary student from the area gathered at Airplane Park to educate themselves on Illinois culture.  Farmers and Historians taught and the student also learned square-dancing. Square Dancing is Illinois official state dance.

In the digital age, it is becoming rarer to see a mechanical print press. Few companies own them and out-source the task to an outside company or a paper that owns one themselves. Fortunately, I recently had the opportunity to view one first hand! Below are a few images I took!

After receiving a phone call from one of the staff reporters in regards to the commissioning ceremony, I immediately dropped what I was doing to document this memorable event. In attendance were family friends and the troops that proudly serve our country

2nd Lt Sarah Ostrowski from Frankfort, Germany  graduates first in her class. She stated "this is a relief and really exciting time for her".
